Frameline40 Panel: Trans Stories: On Film and Online - Moderated by Sam Berliner

As part of a special initiative supported by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Frameline: San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival presented a special series for the 40th Festival anniversary June 16-26, 2016. In Whose Image? LGBTQ Storytelling 1977 to Today encompassed a series of film screenings and panel discussions that reflected upon and contextualized a powerful body of filmmaking from the founding year of the Festival through today. This panel, Trans Stories: On Film and Online, addressed trans and gender expansive representation in mainstream film, new wave “television” and directly online through portals such as YouTube and Vine.
